SEPTEMBER 05, 2008
Directly from the Director of Education
Teaching and learning is an ED-venture with The Henry Ford as your educational partner!
By Paula Gangopadhyay, Director of Education

Welcome to the 2008-09 school year! I feel extremely honored as the newly appointed institutional education director, to envision and help create the best opportunities for onsite, offsite and online educational programming for our K-12 sector.

I am pleased to unveil our new educational website—with an added feature, Club Ed!  This site was created for you and we hope to build upon it with ideas from you. Use it. Share it. And please, don't hesitate to give us your feedback. We want to make this important tool as user-friendly as possible.

In addition, we are launching our new Educator's Guide which offers a comprehensive array of classroom enhancement programs as well as online pre-and post-visit resources, all realigned with the new GLCS and HSCS.

Here, at The Henry Ford, we firmly believe education should have a 'by the teachers, for the teachers and of the teachers' approach where educators can not only come and use our resources  but  become co-authors of  our educational programs and experiences. Along with our newly published  Educator's Guide, we are also recruiting new "Teacher Fellows" who will work hand-in hand with our education staff and actively participate in new program development. A new "Henry Ford Educator's Circle" is also being formed with educational experts across the state and nation who will serve as our advisory council.

Many new educational initiatives are currently underway as we strive towards making The Henry Ford the best global educational resource! I will constantly update you on these terrific opportunities through this blog. Stay tuned and welcome back to another great year of inspiring young minds!
