Ford Rouge Factory Tour Closure August 25 – September 21, 2014

Dearborn Truck Plant has announced a re-tooling shutdown Aug. 25 – Sept. 21, 2014. Ford will be installing new robotics and tools to prepare for the all new 2015 F-150 truck. Due to this heavy construction, access will be restricted and the public tours will be closed from Aug. 25 – Sept. 21.

Our tour intends to reopen Sept. 22 to provide a unique look at the pre-production launch activities in the plant. Production tests in late September, October and early November will be extremely limited. Production disruptions and further tooling changes will mean that trucks are not being built on a regular basis during this pre-production time. Ford will be focused on training staff and perfecting the new build processes to prepare for the late 4th quarter launch of the incredibly innovative F-150. Production schedules will be updated as they are announced by Ford.
