This workshop entails approximately 40 hours of direct instruction and participation.  Michigan SCECHs will be available, pending approval from the Michigan State Board of Education through Wayne RESA, for a nominal fee of $10.  The workshop staff will work with you to provide the documentation needed for you to apply for CEUs from your home district or state.

Undergraduate or graduate credit is available for this workshop through the University of Michigan–Dearborn. The university offers NEH Summer Scholars from out-of-state a tuition discount equal to in-state tuition plus 15%. Michigan residents pay the university’s in-state tuition fee. The credit would be in the form of independent study work and will include work done in the workshop along with additional written material (it could be a paper, curriculum, unit/lesson plans, etc) agreed upon by the student and the instructor of record, Prof. Martin Hershock. NEH Summer Scholars interested in credit through UM-Dearborn will work with Prof. Martin Hershock to meet requirements and pay tuition.
