Toys
are so appealing—they can be colorful, whimsical, intriguing.
They are fun to play with as kids and enjoyable to remember as adults.
But toys also tell us stories about how childhood and play have
changed over the years. And, they offer a glimpse of what living
in America was like for previous generations.
How
did children play in the past? What did parents think important—or
not—about the toys their children played with? How did new
technologies change how toys were made and what kind of toys were
available?
