May 2013 Pic of the Month Take a Bus Ride |
Bus terminals of the 1920s and 1930s were often located in hotels. This is the Pickwick Hotel in Kansas City. The Pickwick organization owned the Pickwick bus line, and often built terminals inside or adjacent to their hotels. The bus terminal located on the first floor of this hotel featured a turntable that rotated buses 180 degrees within a narrow space—allowing buses to exit the same way they entered.
