Resonance to museum visitors

Although visitor responses can vary greatly, icons encourage personal reflection that looks both outward to larger society and inward to one’s own personal values and beliefs.  When museum visitors actively engage with objects like the bus, they begin to acknowledge their own place in world—and realize that they themselves play a role in the creation and perpetuation of iconic objects.
