A Piece of American History
by:
Rick Telesca
This was the first vehicle I restored. I wanted to restore a vehicle that had a place in American history. This is a 1966 Ford M151/A1 Military Utility Tactical Truck (MUTT). I found it in pieces in upstate New York and had to reassemble it bolt by bolt. The 1960's was a period in American history that was both a time of growth and sometimes turbulent change in our country. This vehicle is a tribute to all those service men in women who served in Vietnam as well as all past and present veterans who proudly serve our country and the good things for which it stands. It is also a tribute to the resiliecy of America and the American people. The dashboard has the signatures of service men and women from World War II to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It has taken 3 years to this point and Is still a work in progress.
