My first car was a 1991 Ford Escort. I was in the Army, and stationed in Louisiana. The day I bought the car I had to make a decision to buy a standard vs an automatic. The dealer told me that the standard was more stylish so I bought it, but shortly afterwards realized that I did not know how to drive a standard so I had to have my buddy drive it back to the barracks for me. I kept that car for 8 years, and gave it to my younger brother when I was reassigned overseas. It was a great car.
