My first auto was a 1971 Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup truck. I did not picture my self as a teenager driving a truck, but that is what I was fortunate enough to have at the time. The truck was stubborn at times and the linkage had broke on it. My father had put in a floor shifter, that was from a car, and you had to bend down to shift the truck. He later moditied it with a water pipe topped with a tennis ball. The truck sometimes would not shift into the correct gear and it had to be driven like an automatic.

My father and I put blue and red racing stripes onto the hood and the cab of the truck to spiff it up a bit. I still love to drive a full sized truck, but have switched over by choice to driving a Ford F150.
