I grew up in Waterford Township located in Oakland County, MI. We had a 20 acre parcel of land. When I turned 15 my Dad got me a car so I could learn to drive on our property. I had a circle 8 track and I drove it everyday. I have no idea what year the car was but it was old. It was a Corvair.There was no floorboard on the drivers side and instead I had a piece of plywood to keep my feet in the car.

The greatest memory about my daily drives is how I put my two younger sisters in the car and we would crank up the radio (it worked really well) and we would drive. I have no idea how many miles we put on that car that year but I am sure, if we had been on the road, we could have gone to Florida and back!
