Back in the late 60's my sister and I had jobs in Highland Park. She worked at Exello Corporation and I worked at Rupp and Bowman, Medical Supply. Both companies were located on Hamilton. We couldn't afford to buy a car individually so we decided to buy one together.

We found a used 1967 Chevy Camaro. It was dark maroon with a black vinyl top and a V8 engine. We loved it! Two girls in their late teens riding around in a great car. We lived in Royal Oak so of course Woodward was the place to be. What a dream! Well the dream did not last very long.

One day we were out with our mother and a friend. My sister was making a left hand turn and we got hit. No one got hurt, but the car was totaled. That was the end of our "dream car". Every year when I go to the Dream Cruise I look for our "dream car".
