Toys & Games:

The Henry Ford has over 10,000 toys and games dating from the early 1800s to the present. These playthings include dolls, doll houses, toy animals, board games, toy automobiles and trains, mechanical toys, construction sets, toy musical instruments, paper dolls, tea sets, puzzles, marbles, and educational toys. These toys and games show us how childhood and play have changed over 200 years, as well as how they have stayed the same. Toys also reflect the technological innovations and popular culture of an era.

The development of the Toys & Games section was supported by a grant from the
National Endowment for the Humanities.
