The Henry Ford's collection of political,
civic and fraternal organization materials is small in numbers relative
to other collections but includes numerous noteworthy items. The
collection focuses on face-to-face political persuasion illustrating
presidential campaigns, social issues such as suffrage and civil
rights, cultural critiques of politics and methods of memorializing
deceased presidents. It includes buttons, ribbons, banners, signs,
promotional novelties, handbills, broadsides, parade paraphernalia
and prints and photographs. Similar items illustrate various
civic, labor and fraternal organizations.
