Circus Posters:
|
The Henry Ford has over 300 circus posters. They are lithographs dating primarily from 1890 to 1935 although the earliest poster in the collection is a woodcut made in 1834. They advertise various circuses but show primarily Barnum & Bailey, Sells Brothers, Adam Forepaugh, Miller Bros. & Arlington, and Buffalo Bill’s. The Strobridge Lithographing Company of Cincinnati, Ohio printed most of the circus posters. |
