During the eighty-four years of his life, Thomas
Alva Edison (1847-1931) patented 1,093
inventions,
including the phonograph and the incandescent lightbulb.
His personal papers consist of photographs, correspondence,
clippings, patents and Edison's notebooks from the period
when he was working on the electric light as well as material
relating to his death and the making of the film "Young
Tom Edison." In addition, the collection contains
extensive information about Edison's recording artists
and the production cards for his disk recordings. |
