collection concentrates primarily on the early days of
aviation. Included is material on such noted figures as
Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, the Wright
Brothers and Richard E. Byrd. Also covered are
aviation topics like air races, aviation conferences,
dirigibles and gliders, building and flying aircraft,
aircraft carriers and Autogiros and helicopters, among
others. The collection consists of correspondence,
programs, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, club newsletters,
pilot certifications and a large selection of photographs
of aviators and aircraft.
