These
are records relating to the company's involvement with
their operations outside the United States. It includes
correspondence, agreements, maps, photographs, scrapbooks,
production information plant engineering, foreign publications,
and invoices pertaining to the development and administration
of the company's activities in Canada, Mexico, South America,
Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia. Of particular
interest is the portion dealing with the Amtorg Trading
Corporation, established in 1929 to sell tractors, automobiles
and plant technology to the Soviet Union, the creation
of the Ford plant in Dagenham, England, and the records
of Ford's attempt to produce rubber at Fordlandia and
Beltarra in Brazil. |
