show as he waits on pompous Mrs. Cleveland, who is "rusticating"
in Waterford away from the hustle and bustle of her hometown,
Detroit.

Edison's Light Fantastic
(Menlo Park Yard)
Meet Thomas Edison in this 15-minute play and hear about one of
his most "electrifying" inventions! This one-man
show gives a glimpse into the inspiring life, work and mind of
Thomas Edison. Edison speaks to a group of reporters visiting his complex on the day after his first public demonstration of the world’s first practical incandescent light bulb on Dec. 31, 1879.

Home from Kitty Hawk
(Wright Home)
Experience the thrill of the Wright brothers’ first flight as they take you back to that amazing and inspiring day in this 20-minute play. Fly back in time with Orville, Wilbur, and their sister, Katharine, as they take you on a dramatic journey through their experiments, struggles, and joys. The audience joins them on December 23, 1903 just after the brothers return home from Kitty Hawk. They recount their amazing and inspiring first flights that made history on December 17 of that year and forever changed the world. Sponsored by Delta Air Lines

How I Got Over
(Susquehanna Plantation)
Experience inspiring stories, songs and slave narratives in this powerful 20-minute show. Music played a major role in the struggle of enslaved Africans to survive the oppression they met on plantations like Susquehanna Plantation. The reenactment of a "Buh Rabbit" tale told in verse is a favorite with our visitors. This dramatic presentation shares inspirational stories of endurance and empowerment through slave narratives left behind, and through the hopeful music and storytelling that sustained them as they hoped for freedom.

Laura’s Little Town

Meet young Laura Ingalls before she became a teacher in this 15-minute show celebrating Little Town on the Prairie. Hear some of Laura’s favorite stories about her family’s time in DeSmet, South Dakota including the return of Nellie Oleson and the first time she met Almanzo Wilder.

Simply Gershwin

Celebrate the beloved music of George and Ira Gershwin in this lively 30-minute music, dance, and comedy revue performed by four talented singers/actors and one pianist. Packed with great music, this show features song favorites like Fascinating Rhythm, Someone to Watch Over Me, They Can’t Take That Away from Me, Summertime and I Got Rhythm.

Tales from Huck Finn

Meet Huckleberry Finn, one of Mark Twain's most beloved characters, and hear a few of his memorable adventures (and even how Samuel Clemens chose his pseudonym Mark Twain!). Favorite scenes and escapades from 1885’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and 1876’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer come alive in this high-energy 15-minute show.

Whether playing the Nationals or a visiting club, the excitement of the game has never been greater — a full nine innings played without gloves and in a gentlemanly manner. what to bring, what to wear
Greenfield Village is spread over dozens of acres-- comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes are a must. A large portion of activities are held outdoors, rain or shine. Dressing for the weather is a must. Bring umbrellas / rain gear and prepare for a wide range of temperatures, especially if you will be staying into Saturday evening. Folding chairs are also recommended for those who cannot stand for long periods.
Wheelchairs are available for a small fee at the Village entrance. Electric scooters are also available for a fee, but only in limited supply. Wheelchairs and scooters are rented on a first come, first served basis-- plan to arrive early if you need to rent them. You are welcome to bring your own wheelchair or scooter, however, upright scooters (Segways) are not allowed on premises.
Children's wagons are also available to rent for a fee at the Village entrance. You are welcome to bring your own stroller or wagon, however, recreational scooters, bicycles or in-line / in-sole skates are not allowed inside the Village gates.
Bring a camera; photography is allowed in all areas of the Village.

Tickets to Greenfield Village are available online, through The Henry Ford Call Center (open 7 days a week, 9am - 5pm) 313-982-6001 and at all admissions counters. Tickets can be mailed when reservations are made 2 weeks or more in advance. Tickets purchased less than 2 weeks out will be held at Village Will Call.

The Henry Ford is located in Dearborn, Michigan on the corner of Village Road and Oakwood Boulevard, just west of the Southfield Freeway (M-39) and south of Michigan Avenue (US-12).

From the East or West via I-94:
Take I-94 to the Oakwood Boulevard exit; go north on Oakwood. The Henry Ford is 2.5 miles from the exit on the corner of Village Road and Oakwood Boulevard.
From the South via I-75:
Exit to northbound Southfield Freeway (M-39); drive 4.1 miles to Oakwood Boulevard (Exit 4). Left on Oakwood and drive 1.8 miles.
From the North via Southfield Road (or I-96):
Take Southfield Freeway (M-39) south 4.5 miles past I-96 and exit at Michigan avenue (Exit 6). Continue on the Southfield service drive (veer left) for .5 mile. At the first stoplight, turn right onto Village Road (through the iron gates) and drive .75 mile.
