Great Depression of the 1930s brought some changes in how
kids played. Many of them joined their parents in play for
the first time, as entire families more often stayed home
and found inexpensive ways to entertain themselves.
While many toy manufacturers were forced
out of business, others found that they could profit by
producing toys that enchanted people by being associated
with famous celebrities.
