A Ford Families First

My Dad was a trim and color associate in the Design Center from the 1950's to the 1980's. His first car was a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 2-Door Hardtop. My first new car was a 1987 Ford Escort LX Hatchback. Favorite cars while growing up were a 1963 Ford Galaxie 2-Door Sedan and a 1970 Ford Custom 500 10-Passenger Ranch Wagon (Extremely Rare).

The '57 Ford Fairlane 2-Door Hardtop was Black and Red. It was the 1st new car my dad owned. The '63 Galaxie Sedan was Maroon. There is a special connection for me to this car. I was born on Nov. 20th 1963, and was brought home in that car on the day J.F.K. was killed in Dallas. The '70 Ford Custom 500 Ranch Wagon was an extremely rare model, but featured the grill trim of the Galaxie 500 Series. In the summer of '73 it went cross country to Arizona and back to Dearborn with no problems at all.
