My grandparents bought this new at Sesi L-M, the Ypsilanti dealership a couple miles from my grandfather's plant--Ford Ypsi. My grandmother said the dark red cloth interior looked like a French Brothel.
It was a great car, despite our president's condemnation of the model. I loved it. Sporty roomy, cheap to insure--with a V8 (all of about 118HP).
Dove grey was too common for my tastes, so I decided I'd that it needed to be the then-current medium charcoal metallic Ford was using, so it was off to Macco and $300 later, that's what it was,
About a year after graduation, I wrecked it. I was so upset and would love to have another, for old time's sake.
