Tallguy1975My first car was a white 1959 Ford Galaxie Fairlane 500. I acquired in the early 1970s from my father. He owned a collision shop and often came across vehicles that were left behind by customers who couldn't pay for their repairs. As a "Ford Man" himself, he was all too happy to give the cars to his children. Among them were two 1963 Thunderbirds, a Pinto, and a couple of LTDs. I was often asked if I owned a used car lot.
I remember the Galaxie being a very large car, made of real steel and thus, very sturdy. Being of small stature myself, I felt as though I was driving a tank. However, I felt well protected.
