’57 Plymouth
by:

My first car was my father's 1957 Plymouth Savoy. He bought another car and gave me his in 1968. It was black and white but only the hood has any gloss left so when all my friends were polishing their cars on Sunday, all I had to do was the hood.

It had a bench seat that rocked because there was a hole in the floor and a push button transmission. The reverse button would fall inside and I'd have to unscrew the plate and reset it so I didn't like to parallel park. Also, it had a pedal for the windshield washer. If I pressed the pedal halfway the wipers would go off so, in a way, I could have intermittent wipers.
The picture submitted is not my car but a photo of one just like it.
