More
than 35,000 books are included in the general library
collections, selected to support the work of Institute1
staff in artifact collection, educational, exhibition,
and preservation activity. Focusing on topics relating
to the historical artifacts owned by the museum, the collection
is strongest in the areas of agriculture, communication,
transportation, the household, community life, and industry.
The collection attempts to be comprehensive in its holdings
on the lives and work of American inventors and entrepreneurs
including Henry
Ford, Thomas
Edison, Noah
Webster, and the Wright
Brothers. Books held in this collection were
published from the early nineteenth century through the
twentieth century, and into the present. All books
can be found in the online
library catalog. |
