addition to special collections of primary source materials, the
Research Center offers a library of more than 45,000 books,
periodicals, newspapers in microform, etc. to support the on-going
work of Museum and Village staff. These collections emphasize
the stated mission of the Museum, to provide continuing education
for staff, and to provide insight into cultural and social conditions
at publication. The collections are strongest in the following subjects:
automotive industry development, agriculture, mass culture, transportation,
the household and community life, innovation, and technology. The
collection attempts to be comprehensive in the areas of the lives
and works of Henry Ford, the Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison, and
Noah Webster. |
