Health Aids:
|
In the early 21st century, we are fortunate that there are a variety of objects specially designed to help in our care should we become ill or infirm. But in centuries past Americans muddled through with simple domestic goods to assist them at these difficult times. Talented craftsmen produced some of these goods for our ancestors, creating feeding cups from silver or ear trumpets of gold. Patent medicines were eagerly consumed by those looking for a "sure cure," usually to no avail. Today, American corporations are pleased to supply us with a variety of health aids--from hearing aids to electric wheelchairs. |
