Merchandising Equipment:
|
By the late 19th century, an array of manufactured goods offered convenience and variety to American consumers. Companies marketed these products by designing attractive packaging and point-of-purchase displays, and by advertising their products to customers. Shopkeepers and store managers enhanced retail sales by attractively displaying the merchandise to customers, as well as efficiently organizing their store stock and their sales processes. The museum's collection of merchandising equipment includes store fixtures, trade signs, and name-brand packaging and labels, dating from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. |
