It’s North versus South, brother against brother. But widowed farmer Charlie Anderson isn’t about to let any of his boys take sides. That’s no easy task when the family farm is in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Before long, the Civil War surrounds the valley and Charlie is pushed to the limit as his family is pulled into the fray.

Shenandoah features direction by Brian Townsend, musical direction by G. Kevin Dewey and choreography by Paul Bruce. The Players Guild of Dearborn is rehearsing and building the sets, sewing the costumes and gathering the props for the show at its theater on Madison in Dearborn and will “take the show on the road” to the Anderson Theater for six performances.

“Everyone from A to Z is putting their best foot forward to build the most memorable production of Shenandoah possible.” says choreographer, Paul Bruce. “The perfect pairing of Players Guild magic and the beautiful Anderson Theater at The Henry Ford should make for a splendid event.”

Director, Brian Townsend says that, “working in cooperation with The Henry Ford is an exciting opportunity. Here we have two cultural institutions, rooted in Dearborn, using their unique talents to tell a story and reveal the history of one of our nation’s stormiest periods.”
