Company
Founders:
In
the 1890s, photographer Edwin H. Husher assembled financial
backing to establish the Photochrom Company of Detroit.
His backers included the Photoglob Company of Switzerland
and Detroiter William A. Livingstone, son of shipping,
banking, and publishing magnate William Livingstone, Jr.
The company also purchased the existing negative files
of photographers, including those of William H. Jackson,
who became a partner.
