BRENTWOOD, 21 April, 2009 – The new Ford Fiesta has beaten 26 contenders and eight class winners to be crowned What Diesel magazine's Car of the Year 2009.
Ian Robertson, editor of What Diesel magazine said: "The Fiesta is simply the best small diesel car available on the market right now, and judging by the sales figures, the UK public agrees. It feels solid, well-built and is great to drive."

The new Ford Fiesta went on sale in September 2008, and already more than 36,000 have been sold in Britain. The new car has won many awards already including an international award for design and impressive accolades from car and fleet media as best small car.
