Life's a beach: Ford Escape Hybrids help save lives on Los Angeles beaches
Ford Escape Hybrids are known for reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions, but it's not as well known that they also help the Los Angeles County Lifeguard Service do its job. In fact, the fleet of 45 customized Escape Hybrids has been a reliable tool, having been used in more than 9,000 rescues. Besides helping save lives, the Escape Hybrids also are having a positive impact on the environment, too. They have enabled the lifeguards to reduce their entire fleet's fuel usage by 25 percent and emissions by 97,500 lbs. during the first half year of service, demonstrating how it's one of the cleanest vehicles available today. more...

First Fiesta Movement agent missions don't disappoint on adventure, response
Searching for Bigfoot, visiting Mount St. Helens or running a gas tank to empty – these are all adventures Fiesta Movement agents took part in as part of their May missions. Not only did they have an absolute blast doing it, but they caught consumer's attention, too. New Ford partnership helps pave the way to electric vehicles
It may only be a matter of time before Canadian consumers are recharging their vehicles instead of paying at the pump, as Hydro-Québec – a Canadian utility company – has joined Ford's demonstration and research program on Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles (PHEVs). Collaboration among Ford and utilities is key to the advancement of PHEVs, which could play an important role in the fight against climate change. Ford has undertaken a three-year test program on the Ford Escape PHEV designed to explore and evaluate ways to integrate these vehicles into the electric grid. more...

Ford's SYNC recognized for innovation, mirroring consumer demands
With the ability to provide customers the latest in connectivity, Ford's SYNC can add two more accolades to its already impressive list. During the Telematics Update Detroit 2009 conference, SYNC was given the Global Car Manufacturer Innovation Award, highlighting the ability to devise a suite of services that closely mirror consumer demands – something SYNC is able to do with 911 Assist, Vehicle Health Report and Traffic, Directions and Information. Ford's commitment to continuously bring new services to the industry also was recognized with the Industry Newcomer Award for SYNC with Traffic, Directions and Information. And Joe Berry, director of SYNC, was awarded the Telematics Leadership Award.
