GREG BIFFLE QUALIFIES FOURTH FOR SUNDAY’S RACE AT DOVER

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (qualified 4th) – HAS THE RACE TRACK CHANGED FROM PRACTICE TO QUALIFYING? “Well, certainly this is the first time the sun has been out since we’ve been on the race track, so the race track is just a little slicker than it has been. But, I’m really excited about the 3M Ford Fusion. I just wish I could’ve gotten a little more out of it. I feel like [Juan Pablo] Montoya’s time might be close to the top; we’ll have to wait and see, there’s some fast cars coming. The 48 had a pretty quick time, so we’ll just wait and see. I’m pretty excited about it, but I think that will keep us in the top 10 for Sunday’s start.”

YOU WON THIS RACE LAST YEAR. IS THERE ANYTHING AT ALL THAT YOU CAN BRING FROM LAST YEAR’S NOTES? “Sure. I think so. The car is pretty similar to what it was last year. I’ve just got to get a little bit better as a driver when it comes to qualifying, I need to step it up. I was a tenth off or so from the pole here, but I felt like the car was capable of it, I’ve just got to get it done.”

PAUL MENARD – No. 98 Energizer/Menards Ford Fusion (qualified 10th) – “If we get a top-20 start out of the deal, I’ll be pretty happy. We really struggled in qualifying the last few months. So, we put a big emphasis on it this weekend, and it just gained us so much more track position. Our race cars have been pretty good, we just haven’t been able to qualify and that really puts you behind the 8-ball when the green flag drops.”

THERE MIGHT BE SOME RAIN TOMORROW. DID YOU PRACTICE IN RACE TRIM, TOO? “No, we didn’t, but we’ve got some notes we can look back on. The rain’s not supposed to come until the afternoon, so hopefully we’ll get our morning session in

DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion (qualified 21st) – YOU BACKED UP WHEN YOU RAN IN PRACTICE. “Anytime here at Dover if you can just back up what you did in practice, it’s a good thing. A couple of times here we tried to be a hero and then usually slow down two-tenths and qualify 35th, so I just tried to be as smooth as I could. Certainly, it would’ve been better if we went a little bit faster in practice and then qualifying, but I think our UPS Ford is pretty good. I think the tire test we did here a few weeks ago helped us out a little. Hopefully, we can get it to drive good in race trim. It looks like we’ll be about mid-pack to start the race.”
 and we’ll be okay.”

MATT KENSETH – No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion (qualified 23rd) – HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS CAR FOR SUNDAY’S RACE? “I feel pretty good about it. Our practice went really well today. We got to put on some stuff that was really good in race trim, and with possible weather looming tomorrow, I kind of decided to work on race trim more than qualifying today, and to try to do well in qualifying and get a little better qualifying effort, and with maybe some rain tomorrow, as fast as we’ve been running, I thought we really needed to work on race trim.”
