Edwards To Start 10th In Richmond Saturday Night Race

CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion (Qualified 10th) – “That’s good. Hopefully, that will be good for a top-10 spot. You never know with that draw, but our Aflac car is fast and I’m just looking forward to the races this weekend. I want to get this one over with and, hopefully, we come out on top. We want to be in the chase more than anything.” HOW IS THE FOOT? “My foot is good. It’s better than my arm pits from these crutches.”

BOBBY LABONTE – No. 96 Ask.com Ford Fusion (Qualified 37th) – “We were a little too tight in the center. It felt like it had more grip. We picked up a little bit, but we didn’t pick up as much as we should have. It’s just been tight in the center and hasn’t felt like we’ve picked up any speed.”

PAUL MENARD – No. 98 Menards Ford Fusion (Qualified 42nd) – “There was a good amount of grip. The brakes were shaking really hard and really bad. I kind of missed turn one and screwed up both laps that way, but I’m really happy with it in race trim. We’ll see what we’ve got tomorrow.”

GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Qualified 24th) – “We’re gonna be in the back, so it’s going to take us a while. We were just way too tight and I don’t know why because it was a little bit loose in practice qualifying. Normally, it’s loose here or it tends to loosen up, but it was just too tight.”

DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 UPS Ford Fusion (Qualified 26th) – “Our cars are OK. I wish they had a little more speed, but the cars drive pretty good. I’m pretty happy with my UPS Ford. I wish we could have got a little more speed, but it didn’t cool down as much as I thought it would going out this late. We’ll obviously work on it. We’ve got some good notes from practice and this has been one of our better tracks the last couple of years, so I look forward to a good run on Saturday night.”
