Join a growing team and support the on-going rollout and expansion of the lifesaving Global Emergency Products and other connected vehicle applications globally.


Product Application Engineer in Emergency Services will support the development, certification and launch of vehicle connected services on several in-vehicle platforms/programs including Infotainment Systems and Embedded Telematics Systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Creative tech savvy candidate, who is self-motivated, has leadership abilities and a desire to launch new tech products and services for consumers.
  • Development of vehicle emergency features require you to effectively write, manage and maintain product use-cases, requirements, and software specifications.
  • Prior experience leading a project from conception to launch including effective management of software suppliers, testing, validation, troubleshooting procedures, and leadership in the resolution of issues.
  • Can contribute to business plan, program management reviews and software test planning.
  • Responsibility for maintaining quality documents and DFMEA for their product(s).
  • Manage working/collaborative relationships with the professional groups representing the emergency calling community along with appropriate internal Ford groups
  • Ability to interface with many Teams throughout the company, other nationalities/countries, across time-zones.
  • Travel includes support of feature testing, business meetings and public relation events on occasion.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer or Software Engineering Degree
  • 1+ years of engineering/software experience (coursework allowed)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with wireless devices, telematics, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity a plus
  • General wireless, telephony networking theory a plus
  • Ability to use CAN based vehicle engineering tools
  • Prior exposure to vehicle electrical architecture and components
  • Software expertise with programming knowledge of C, QNX, Visio and other industry standard software development tools a plus.
  • Ability to read electronic schematics, HMI flow design and use Visio proficiently
  • Current with the latest technology trends and may consider themselves an early adopter
  • General knowledge of safety systems, restraints, and their associated testing requirements a plus
  • Knowledge of the Ford GPDS and Design and Release Engineering is plus
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills
