Job Description The Ford Social Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the strategic management of Ford’s always-on US Social channels, including managing content and publication on Ford social channels and the FordSocial.com platform. This includes strategy, creative, publishing, production, analytics and optimization. This key position within the marketing communications department is responsible for collaborating with communications colleagues to present the voice of the Ford brand online while delivering content that engages consumers and drives overall favorable opinion and positive sentiment of the Ford brand and products.
Social communications strategy and alignment:
Lead social platform strategy for US Marketing Communications including maintaining platform playbooks and roadmaps
Partner with Digital Communications, Public Affairs, Global Marketing, OGC, FCSD and brand teams to implement the social communications strategy
Lead social publishing efforts to ensure digital marketing effectiveness, timely response management and legal compliance
Set overall goals and metrics for social campaigns and use data to optimize efforts along the way and inform future work
Collaborate on an aligned paid/earned media strategy
Identify opportunities for innovation in emerging social channels and develop plans to test-and-learn, while maintaining owned platforms and channels
Work closely with Ford stakeholders and social listening to manage crisis, ad hoc reporting and social advocate tracking
Content and strategy planning for Growth Audience Paid Social:
Direct and approve agency efforts to create social content supporting key growth audience targets and ensure alignment with overall communications strategy
Work with digital media manager and agencies (GTB, Zubi, UWG) to develop social media plans to engage key growth audiences for Ford
Oversee production and implementation of social media campaigns
Ensure proper goal setting, analytic measurement and optimization of social media programs
Production and execution of all social programs:
Manage Ford Social platform and content production ensuring alignment with overall communications strategy
Manage social shopper program to optimize KBAs and realize vehicle sales
Oversee production of assets and content for Ford Social platform
Ensure proper goal setting, analytics and optimization of social creative
Support Ford Content Hub efforts to develop news and content to engage consumers with the Ford brand
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design
5+ years of experience in leading and executing social media strategies across multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.)
3+ years of experience in two of the following: Digital Marketing, Brand Marketing or Communications Planning/Execution
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Computer Science
3+ years of experience in directing and managing agency personnel (~15-20 agency heads, often times junior level) personnel, desired
Proven ability to lead, plan, develop, and implement projects / programs that generate profit and the courage to reject those that do not
Proven ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats to colleagues and senior management
Proven analytical and quantitative skills including the ability to establish measurements and success metrics where standards do not exist
Strong desire to keep up to date on technology trends, as well as understand their impact to our business and evolve our strategy as a result
