iOS Developer, Greenfield Labs

The Ford Smart Mobility (FSM) LLC team is working to transform the urban transportation experience. Housed within FSM LLC, Greenfield Labs is a small but highly capable and fast moving team designing, developing, shipping and testing new products and services that help people make the best of multimodal transportation systems in cities around the world. We are looking for candidates to join us in this journey to develop and deliver exciting and ground-breaking human centered transportation products and services.

As an iOS Developer at Greenfield Labs, you will be combining the art of design with the art of mobile programming. Your responsibilities will include translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of applications. You will work with UI/UX designers and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides to define how applications look and how they work.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new user-facing mobile applications and features
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for performance and scalability
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to backend
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders from design, research, product amongst others

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years experience developing iOS applications with Objective-C and/or Swift development
• 2+ years experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Motion, Core Animation, etc. using REST APIs to connect iOS applications to backend services

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years experience with developing iOS applications
• Strong understanding of Apple design principles and interface guidelines
• Experience with transportation or mobility applications and developing for location aware services
• Experience with offline storage, multithreading, and performance tuning
• Understanding of performance and memory management
• Proficient with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications
• Experience writing unit and integration tests and familiar with continuous integration
• Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences
