Ford Motor Company's Global Data, Insight, and Analytics (GDIA) organization is looking for seasoned data operations professional that has a deep understanding of data management. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest global subject matter experts that are transforming the automobile industry.
In this role, the employee will support the creation of an enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Supply Chain by identifying data for ingestion, curating data, transforming data and developing data standards.
Responsibilities:
Providing the data support for enterprise data integration tasks, including ingestion, standardization, enrichment, mastering and assembly of data products for downstream applications
Drive the Data Strategy and align it with a continuously changing business landscape
Work collaboratively with data scientists to capture data requirements understanding and evaluating their data requirements and delivering the data they need
Evaluate, explore and select the right data platform technologies including Big Data, RDBMS & NoSQL to meet the analytics requirements
Ability to ingest large data sets from a variety of sources (SQL, Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop, Alteryx, QlikView etc)
Expertise to manipulate data to form unified data sets for analysis
Provide visibility to Data Quality issues and work with the business owners to fix the issues
Conduct data profiling and evaluate data quality
Perform any necessary data mapping, data lineage activities and document information flows
Create data models (Conceptual, Logical and Physical)
Build Metadata models & Business Glossary by gathering information from multiple sources
Serve as data subject matter expert and demonstrate an understanding of key data management principles and data use
Implement an Enterprise Data Governance model and actively promote the concept of data sharing, data reuse, data quality and data standards
Drive Master Data Management(MDM) strategy including implementing the governance model for Master Data
Job Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, MIS, Physics, or related quantitative field
3+ years of experience in a Data Management role including running queries and compiling data for analytics
3+ years of experience in data design, data architecture and data modeling (both transactional and analytic)
2+ years of experience in Big Data / NoSQL technologies including Greenplum & Hadoop (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Shark, Spark, etc.), especially command line experience with loading and manipulating files within HDFS
4+ years of experience in engineering with a focus on process design and data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, MIS, Physics, or related quantitative field
Knowledge of automotive industry in general, and understanding of automotive regulatory requirements in regards to environmental mandates (fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions)
Ability to analyze requirements and identify technical concerns and data quality issues
Experience with benchmarking processes to develop best in class methods for implementation
