The MP&L Material Flow Analyst is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and/or leading the implementation of new, upgraded or modified material handling equipment.
Responsibilities:
Providing a safe operator interface with equipment, managing related facilities actions (including internal skilled trades and/or outside contractors) and engaging suppliers to exceed performance expectations
Targeting and eliminating uptime constraints, performing studies and identifying resources to improve productivity
Working directly with skilled trades to solve recurring and complex equipment repair issues (e.g. racks, AGV's, turn tables, tilt tables, static stands, etc.), developing equipment specifications subsequent to consultation with production, material handling, and skilled trades team members
Monitoring production floor activities for improvement opportunities, managing feedback from material handling equipment users, and facilitating efficient operation of equipment
Will also be responsible for working with material handling supervision to introduce new, upgraded or modified equipment as well as identifying new model plans and actions
Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of Materials Planning and Logistics experience in a Manufacturing Environment
1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge of safety processes including, but not limited to: OIS/JSA, GRASP, OHSIM, safety investigations, and safety audits
Knowledge of applying principals of reliability and maintainability
Experience in customer focused robust equipment design (without added cost)
Knowledge of on-floor processes including, but not limited to: standardized work, QOS, process verification, cycle time improvements, last hit, and planning and scheduling of line releases
Knowledge of business principles used to monitor and meet customer requirements
Continually strive for high quality work in all aspects of the job; puts forth extra effort to ensure high quality of work
Knowledge problem solving tools such as DMAIC
Knowledge of material flow and layout
Familiarity with CAD operations and CAD design
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
