Job Summary:

Vehicle Engineering Attribute Engineers deliver customer centric vehicle performance. The I&E Harmony team ensures that all aspects of Light/Sound/Haptic feel Harmony are met. We lead cross functional solutions and requirements to deliver human centric vehicles. The role of a Harmony Engineer involves following programs from early inception until launch and ensuring standards and innovation solutions are delivered.


Responsibilities include:

  • Define the everyday customer experiences, translate those experiences to engineering parameters and ensure the intent is accomplished in the design proposals.
  • Design, develop and deliver creative and innovative attribute level solutions for Ford products that would improve our customer satisfaction. For harmonious lighting, feedback sound, switch and control feel and Vehicle Welcome/Farewell behavior.
  • Must be able to conduct global competitive benchmarking analyses to understand and improve the 'state of the art' for Interaction and Ergonomics.
  • Serve as central lead to deliver specific attribute needs on program teams.
  • Lead issue resolution and coordinate delivery between multiple Functions (Corporate Design, Vehicle Engineering, Vehicle Operations, Design and Release Engineering, Suppliers, etc.) to ensure designs are compatible with Customer Experiences, attribute targets, Corporate requirements, Service, Assembly, etc.



Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of hands on Engineering experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Attribute Engineering experience
  • Statistical analysis experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Skills
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills required
  • Familiarity with C3P-NG Tools skills – Catia, TCe, and Digital Buck
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and other organizations
  • Passion for engineering and product excellence.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks w/ minimal direction; comfortable w/ changing environment of early Program work
  • Ford Program experience and knowledge of GPDS, eFDVS, and EQOS – desired
