IT Position at RIC Palo Alto with responsibility for both Business Planning and Technology planning. The business planning responsibilities include Business Reports, Metrics, financials, managing POs, headcount, coordinating meeting & visits, cross-location relationship management and assisting with communications/PR for the IT team. The technology management responsibilities include providing project management support, create/maintain team SharePoint sites, project reviews/documentation for senior management, assisting with compliance of IT processes, support business case/IP creation, and act as a liaison to other projects executed by non-IT teams.

The ideal candidate will be a “T” shaped individual with the vertical leg of the “T representing proven expertise in business & technology planning activities. The horizontal leg represents technical breadth as well as business acumen. The candidate needs to persevere in an unstructured & ambiguous environment. The candidate will contain a working knowledge of Ford IT analysis and development processes and tools. We collaborate extensively within Ford and with external partners, thus we require exceptional communication and collaborative skills.
This position is located at Ford’s RIC Palo Alto Campus in the Stanford Research Park in Palo Alto, CA.
Responsibilities:
Business Planning
Reporting & Managing Business Plan, Metrics, headcount control, and financials
Managing business processes like POs, disaster recovery, etc
Coordinating meetings & visits
Cross-location relationship management
Communications/PR for the IT team
Technology planning
Providing project management support and coordinating technology management project reviews as well as associated documentation
Creating/maintaining team SharePoint sites and other collaboration tools
Assisting with compliance of IT processes
Supporting business case/IP creation
Managing projects executed by non-IT teams in Palo Alto
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years exhibiting a Strong understanding of Business case development, interpreting business requirements and vendor engagement
5+ years IT Software development processes & tools
5+ years of cross-functional Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical expertise: Bridging the technology/Business gap, Technology Life Cycle, Design Thinking, and Technology Incubation/Strategy
Communication: Publications, IP filings, University/Supplier Interactions.
Understanding of Ford's Business Processes and Reporting and Technology Management Process
PMP certification
Passion for and understanding of complex technologies, supporting both automotive and mobility businesses.
Business environment knowledge of Product Development and Marketing, Sales & Service
Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; team-oriented
Maturity in dealing with all levels of business and IT management including Directors and senior management
Strong written and oral communication skills – able to clearly convey complex blends of business and technical matters to a range of audiences
