Our Purchasing Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) team works with our global team of automotive suppliers to insure that they are able to produce parts used to build Ford cars and trucks. Supplier Technical Assistance Engineers represent Ford Motor Company at supplier manufacturing facilities across North America. You will play a role inside Ford and with our suppliers regarding product launch and/or current model quality.
As a summer intern in the STA organization, your challenging and exciting projects will grow as fast as you can handle them, giving you an opportunity to make major contributions to our products and success. Position Duties:
The organization is responsible for:
- Interfacing and managing relationships with Ford Manufacturing, Product Development, Logistics and other Purchasing personnel.
- Managing the launch of new model parts and change management actions.
- Leading efforts to continuously improve supplier manufacturing quality and capability.
- Coaching suppliers on proper development / deployment of Quality Operating System techniques.
- Leading emergency problem resolution onsite with suppliers.
- Assessing suppliers installed part capacity.
- Working effectively with diverse people and cross-functional teams.
- Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Available for full time employment by September 15, 2019.
- 3.0 GPA (4.0 Scale).
- 0-3 years of related work experience.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
- These positions are located in Southeast Michigan. Candidate must be willing to relocate here
