Human Resources Internship Program
Our goal is to provide a meaningful and challenging HR assignment that directly contributes to the Company business objectives. Interns work on real-world, project-based assignments that are designed to build HR competencies. These assignments will include hands-on experiences that develop interns technically and professionally. Over the course of 12 weeks, the summer intern program also provides opportunities to build a network of friends and contacts, to learn about living and playing in Southeastern Michigan and to see how Ford contributes to a better world.

If you have a successful internship, you could receive an offer of full-time employment in our HR Ford College Graduate (FCG) Program. Our FCG Program is a developmental and rotational program designed to provide key competency development and ongoing training to prepare individuals for a HR career at Ford Motor Company. The four-year FCG program consists of two rotational assignments: one HR Labor Operations rotation in a U.S. Manufacturing plant facility, and one rotation working in either HR Business Operations (HRBO) or a Shared Center of Expertise (SCOE). One or both of these positions may be located outside of Southeast Michigan.

Minimum Requirements:
  • First-year master's student (MLIR, MSHR, MBA or JD)
  • Candidates must graduate and be available for full-time work prior to September 2019
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale (to be confirmed prior to internship)

Preferred Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period
  • Experience doing HR-related work
  • Demonstrated abilities in project and change management
  • Demonstrated ability to write and speak clearly, concisely and persuasively
