Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Overview:

The Woodhaven Stamping Plant has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor in the Facilities Department. Woodhaven Stamping Plant is about to embark on its most exciting transformation since it was originally opened 52 years ago. New processes that are currently or will shortly be installed include, but are not limited to, new XL JIER Tandem Lines, State Of The Art Hot Stamping Lines and Laser cutting cells. All of these new processes will require highly skilled Supervisors throughout the installation, launch and production phase to lead the newly trained employees that will support this equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update all plant facilities and new construction drawings and prints
  • Plan and coordinate new construction, facilities repair and rearrange projects with Plant Engineering and Construction Commodities Manager
  • Supervise and coordinate resources necessary to maintain plant operations and support plant production requirements including process water and compressed air (internal and outside contractors)
  • Maintain all plant facilities and infrastructure including roadways, building structure, roof, HVAC, and fire systems
  • Provide cost estimates and write MEARS funding requests for facilities capital investments
  • Prepare and assist in negotiating labor clearances for outside contracting
  • Plant lead in resolving Structural and Mechanical Engineering issues
  • Supervise plant combustion safety coordinator. Ensure that required documentation is updated, including quarterly reports to Ford Corporate Engineering, facilitating 3rd party and State of Michigan inspections and permits. Follow up on inspection issues, maintenance and tracking of all plant gas fired equipment
  • Specify and submit funding requests for material and equipment required to maintain plant building and equipment
  • Directly supervise hourly employees that support plant utilities
  • The ability to work any shift, as well as overtime and weekends

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of experience in Facilities Engineering and Maintenance
  • 3+ years of experience with building construction and contractor safety processes
  • 3+ years of experience in plant power distribution system and equipment, air compressors and compressed air handling systems, water pumping, piping and fluid mechanics, road construction and underground storm sewer systems, and/or underground sanitary sewer systems
  • 3+ years of experience with Railroad track and devices (maintenance and repair), gas fired boiler systems and associated safety devices and combustion equipment, gas trains and associated safety devices

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Master Electrician designation
  • Knowledge of UAW rules, regulations, and negotiating process
  • Stamping background helpful
  • Experience supervising associates
