We're working with our communities to help students succeed. In Detroit, our relationship with Ruddiman Middle School has led to the creation of a lunchtime mentoring program.
Serving a Course of Friendship
Hamburgers and pizza are no longer most popular dishes served at Detroit's Ruddiman Middle School cafeteria.
Beginning this spring, 145 Ford employees have committed to serve a course of friendship to Ruddiman students as part of "Lunch Buddies," a school-based mentoring program through Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Metro Detroit.
Participation in the Lunch Buddies program is an opportunity for Ford employees to make a difference in the life of a young person. Facilitated by BBBS, Ford volunteers will meet one-on-one with a student "buddy" on Fridays during the lunch hour.
