We believe that the more support young people receive from their communities, the more likely they are to be successful. We're working with America's Promise to make sure young people get the type of support they need. Through our work with America's Promise, we're helping to change the lives of 15 million underserved young people.
Connecting Young People to Their Communities
Since 2000, we've worked with America's Promise to create online gathering places, known as Promise Stations, to connect young people, parents, schools and organizations, and provide resources such as volunteer opportunities.
We support the States of Promise initiative; their technology initiatives, including the promotion of Promise Stations to the 100 Best Communities for Young People; and regional forums across the country, which are designed to motivate communities to take action on behalf of young people.
About America's Promise
America's Promise Alliance believes, and research proves, that children receiving five fundamental resources, or Five Promises, have a greater chance for success and are more likely to be academically successful, civically engaged and socially competent.
The Five Promises are caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, an effective education and opportunities to help others.
