We recognize that our social responsibility includes supporting minority suppliers. In 1978 we created the Supplier Diversity Development (SDD) program with the goal of creating opportunities to support minority individuals and communities.
Supporting Diversity and Minority Suppliers
The Supplier Diversity Development (SDD) program identifies minority individuals and businesses with the potential to become our suppliers. SDD also works with suppliers to help them grow their businesses and their positions in the automotive industry.
SDD invests in the communities of our customers through a series of initiatives. These initiatives include technical assistance programs, training programs, financial support, community involvement and business seminars.
Currently, the SDD program also helps women-owned business, as well as their growth in the automotive industry.
The SDD program is an investment in minority and womenowned suppliers that allows us to purchase more than $3 billion in goods and services annually. Through this work, we promote the diversity of our business partners while contributing to minority communities.
