Media Advisory: Ford Model T Centennial Motorcade Connects Historic Landmarks Significant to Henry Ford and the Model T


WHAT:

A 50-car parade of Model Ts and other historic Ford vehicles will motor through the streets of Metro Detroit celebrating the centennial anniversary of the “car that put the world on wheels,” the Ford Model T.

   

WHEN:

Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., exactly 100 hundred years to the day since production for the Model T began at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant.

   

WHERE:

Beginning at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, the motorcade will visit the four locations that became historic landmarks as a result of the iconic success of the Model T, including the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, Henry Ford Estate – Fair Lane and The Henry Ford.

   

WHO:

More than 100 Model T owners and enthusiasts including special guests at each individual venue.
