CARL EDWARDS – No. 60 Save-a-Lot Ford Fusion (Finished 7th) – TO PIT OR NOT TO PIT, IT WAS ONE OF THOSE THINGS. “Yeah, what happened was Harvick and I were up there leading and we just didn’t pit and everybody else did. That was it. But they had like 10 cars between us and the guy behind us, so they all got time to think about what they were gonna do. By watching the leaders stay out, it’s an easy decision then. I should have pitted. It’s just a mistake.” A HELPLESS FEELING KNOWING THEY’RE COMING. “Oh yeah, that’s a terrible feeling, but the good thing is the car is fast enough to win. We could have won that race, so that’s good.” YOU LED EARLY AND THEN ONCE YOU GOT BEHIND KEVIN YOU NEVER GOT THE LEAD BACK. “Yeah, we adjusted the car the wrong way there, but we were gonna be alright. If it would have gone green, I was catching him a little bit and it would have been a good race.”
DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 Discount Tire Ford Fusion (Finished 4th) – “It was a good night. We’ve just got to work on the particulars on our Discount Tire team. I’ve got to get a little better on the restarts and getting around lapped cars. If we could have had a little better pit stop there, maybe we could have contended for the win. We certainly had a car that could have won tonight, but this is a tough series. The guys that are winning on Friday nights win a lot on Saturday nights, so it was a lot of fun. It was a good run. We stayed up in the front all night long, so we’ve got us a good car to take to some more short tracks.” WHAT DID YOU SEE BETWEEN KYLE BUSCH AND STEPHEN WALLACE? “Stephen got a great restart and shame on me for letting him get around, and then it looked like he just got a run on the 32 and just moved him out of the way a little bit. And then the 32 did what anyone would do and moved him back the next lap, so I was glad I was able to pick up one more spot. I wish I could have been up there moving them.”
MARCOS AMBROSE – No. 59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion (Finished 25th) – “It was just a tough night. We were a little loose in when we came off the truck and it just sort of hurt us here for the race. I thought we were gonna be better than that, so I’m a little disappointed.”
KELLY BIRES – No. 47 Clorox Ford Fusion (Finished 20th) – “It was good at the start of the race. We drove forward a good amount and had a real good pit stop and were sitting there in the top 15. We were looking good and the car was a little tight but we made some adjustments and helped it. When we went back racing, the car just got tight. I think we’ve got an issue with our brakes that is really hurting the car. The guys really worked hard on it because we struggled a little bit when we first got here and then got it driving good. We had a couple of issues and a couple of vibrations – just a lot of stuff going on with the car that affected the end result. We’ll just have to go home and see what’s wrong with it and get it fixed. Still, we should have finished better than we did, we just missed the handling there at the end. The cautions killed us and we just got real tight on that long run and got us a lap down. The car is in one piece, though, so we’ll go back and work on it and make it better.”
