Industry veteran brings 23 years of experience within Ford Motor Company
MUMBAI - October 13, 2008 - Ford India today announced the appointment of Timothy Tucker as vice president of Sales. Tucker will be based at Ford India's New Delhi office.An auto industry veteran, Tucker joined Ford in 1985 and has held a variety of senior management positions in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East in Operations, Sales and Marketing. Prior to his India appointment, Tucker served as managing director of Ford Vietnam and managing director of Ford Malaysia in separate, consecutive postings.
"Tim's leadership and strategic focus will be a great asset as we continue to grow our presence and market share in India. Basing him in Delhi reinforces the importance of that market to Ford and our aggressive growth plans for India," said Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India.
Tucker started his career with Ford in the North American Parts & Service Division, and completed an extensive rotation of management positions before moving to the UK in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed director, International Operations for Marketing, Sales & Service of Jaguar and Land Rover, followed by an appointment as their director of Overseas Operations for Marketing, Sales & Service.
Tucker was vice chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam from 2004-2007, and was recognized as the Outstanding Entrepreneur in the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2005. Tucker is a retired US Army officer and earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
In his new role, Tucker will report directly to Nigel Wark, executive director of Marketing and Sales.
"Tim's experience and knowledge of markets in the Asia region will give us invaluable perspective on effective emerging market growth strategies," said Wark.
