CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Ford Fusion – DO VERY GOOD PRACTICES FOR YOU TODAY. DOES THAT MEAN YOU GOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING THAT YOU WANTED TO? “Yes. Yes, we got everything done – and that car is good. It’s very good. So, we’re excited. Bob [Osborne, crew chief] did a great job. He had a plan, and our tests and everything went well. But now it’s just up to see how the race goes. I think it’s going to be really good. Man, this is a good car.”
MATT KENSETH – No. 17 DeWalt Ford Fusion – DID YOU GET A CHANCE TO LEARNING EVERYTHING THAT YOU WANTED TO LEARN DURING THE PRACTICES TODAY? “I don’t know if we learned everything we needed to learn today, but I think we learned a lot of stuff. That lap time doesn’t mean much, that’s about being one of the first 10 cars on track, really, and getting a good lap in clean air. So, that’s really what that was about, more than anything. But, really we look at lap four, five, six, seven, eight and on through there for kind of a longer run and the track was getting slick. So, I hope we learned what we needed to.”
DAVID RAGAN – No. 6 AAA Insurance Ford Fusion – “Not bad. I think we’re making some gains on it still. I think it’ll be a little bit faster on the long runs. Grip is going to be an issue. It’s a lot hotter today than it was yesterday, so we’re going to have to keep working on grip. It should be fun race. We’re definitely a little better than we were yesterday, but, still, we’ve just got to keep working hard, making improvements, and I think we’ve still got a chance to get a good top-10, top-15 run.”
